ఒకరోజు శ్రీకృష్ణదేవరాయల ఆప్తమిత్రుడు రాజుగారికి మూడు బొమ్మలను పంపించాడు. వాటితో పాటు ఒక చిన్న సందేశం కూడా ఉంది.
One day, a close friend of King Krishnadevaraya sent him three dolls. With them came a short message.
ఒక సేవకుడు మూడు ఒకేలా కనిపించే బొమ్మలను తీసుకొచ్చి రాజు ముందు ఉంచాడు.
A servant carried in three identical-looking dolls and set them down before the King.

Why Could the Scholars Find No Difference?
పండితులు బొమ్మలను తిప్పి తిప్పి చూశారు. చెవులు, కళ్ళు, చేతులు పరిశీలించారు.
The scholars turned the dolls over and over, studying their ears, eyes and hands.
పండితులు ఒక్కొక్కరు బొమ్మలను పరిశీలించారు. ఎక్కడా తేడా కనిపించలేదు. బరువు ఒకటే… ఆకారం ఒకటే… ముఖాలు కూడా ఒకటే! చివరికి అందరూ చేతులెత్తేశారు.
One by one the scholars examined the dolls. They found no difference anywhere. The same weight… the same shape… even the same faces! In the end, they all gave up.

Tenali took a thin copper wire and slowly slid it into a hole near the first doll's ear. The wire went in — and came out at its mouth.

A true friend is one who guards what is told to him in trust. Good advice changes us only when we hold it in our hearts — not when it goes in one ear and out the other.
