In this story, a King dreams of a magnificent palace floating in the air and, believing the dream to be real, orders his entire kingdom to build it — under threat of harsh punishment if they fail. As fear grips the land, Tenali Ramakrishna arrives at court disguised as an old man and levels a strange accusation at the King himself — demanding real justice for a theft that happened only in a dream. Through this clever confrontation, Tenali teaches the King — and every reader — where a dream must end and reality must begin.

విజయనగర రాజసభ... ఆ రోజు మహారాజు ఎంతో ఉత్సాహంగా సభలోకి అడుగుపెట్టారు. మంత్రి ఆశ్చర్యంగా అడిగాడు.
The royal court of Vijayanagara... that day, the Emperor stepped into the hall brimming with excitement. The Minister asked, surprised.
సభలో ఒక్కసారిగా నిశ్శబ్దం అలుముకుంది. ఒక ప్రముఖ శిల్పి వినయంగా ముందుకు వచ్చాడు.
A sudden silence fell over the court. A renowned sculptor stepped forward humbly.

The Kingdom's Failed Attemptsఆ రాజాజ్ఞతో... రాజ్యం మొత్తం భయపడిపోయింది. శిల్పులు... వాస్తు నిపుణులు... దేశ విదేశాల నుంచి వచ్చిన కళాకారులు... అందరూ ప్రయత్నించారు. కానీ... ఎవ్వరూ గాలిలో తేలే రాజభవనాన్ని నిర్మించలేకపోయారు.
With that royal decree, the entire kingdom was gripped by fear. Sculptors, architects, artists from near and far — all of them tried. But no one could build a palace that floats in the air.
ఎవ్వరూ బహుమతి గురించి మాట్లాడలేదు. అందరూ... శిక్ష గురించే మాట్లాడుకున్నారు. ఇదంతా గమనించిన తెనాలి రామకృష్ణుడు చిరునవ్వు నవ్వుకున్నాడు.
No one spoke of the reward anymore — everyone spoke only of the punishment. Watching all this, Tenali Ramakrishna smiled quietly to himself.
ముసలివాడి ఆరోపణ
The Old Man's Accusationమరుసటి రోజు... రాజసభ జరుగుతోంది. అప్పుడే... ఒక ముసలివాడు... చిరిగిన బట్టలతో... చేతిలో కర్రతో... ఏడుస్తూ సభలోకి వచ్చాడు.
The next day, the royal court was in session. Just then, an old man — in torn clothes, with a walking stick in hand — entered the court, weeping.
సభలో ఒక్కసారిగా గుసగుసలు మొదలయ్యాయి.
Whispers immediately spread through the hall.
ముసలివాడు కాసేపు మౌనంగా నిలబడ్డాడు.
The old man stood silent for a moment.
రాజు గర్వంగా సింహాసనం మీద నుంచి లేచాడు.
The King rose proudly from his throne.
ముసలివాడు నెమ్మదిగా తన చేతిని పైకెత్తి... నేరుగా రాజువైపు చూపిస్తూ...
The old man slowly raised his hand... pointing directly at the King...
వేషం తొలగింపు
The Unmaskingసభ మొత్తం ఒక్కసారిగా నిశ్శబ్దమైంది. మంత్రి కోపంతో లేచాడు.
The entire court fell silent at once. The Minister rose in anger.
భటులు ముందుకు దూసుకొచ్చారు. కానీ... రాజు చేతితో వారిని ఆపాడు.
The guards rushed forward. But the King stopped them with a raised hand.
రాజు ఆశ్చర్యపోయాడు.
The King was taken aback.
ముసలివాడు ప్రశాంతంగా అన్నాడు.
The old man said calmly.
సభ మొత్తం నవ్వులతో మార్మోగిపోయింది. రాజు కూడా నవ్వుతూ అన్నాడు.
The entire court burst into laughter. The King, laughing too, said.
రాజు ముఖంలో నవ్వు మాయమైంది. కోపంగా అన్నాడు.
The smile vanished from the King's face. He spoke angrily.
ముసలివాడు మాత్రం బెదరలేదు. నెమ్మదిగా తన శాలువాను తీసేశాడు — లోపల రుద్రాక్ష మాల, జందెం కనిపించాయి. తర్వాత నకిలీ జుట్టు, గడ్డం తీసేశాడు. సభ మొత్తం ఆశ్చర్యంతో లేచి నిలబడింది.
But the old man did not flinch. He slowly removed his shawl, revealing a rudraksha garland and sacred thread beneath. Then he peeled away the false hair and beard. The entire court rose in astonishment.

(The King hands Tenali a small sealed pouch — its contents unrevealed.) Tenali received the gift humbly with both hands.
