The Ending — Tenali's Master Plan Revealed

Dawn
The Ending — Tenali's Master Plan Revealed — Scene from the Tenali Rama story
Sharada
"Did you know beforehand that they would come?"
Tenali, the Scholar-Minister
"I heard whispers in the bazaar about my wealth, Sharada — I knew it would reach the thieves' ears!"
Sharada
"But why did you fill the box with stones?"
Tenali's Master Plan
Spread a rumour in the bazaar — it reached the thieves
Filled the box with stones — to the greedy, even stones look like gold
The thieves watered the garden — free of charge!
Tenali, the Scholar-Minister (laughing)
"To the greedy, even a stone looks like gold, Sharada! They drew water to get the chest — they watered my garden — and it cost me not a single paisa!"
🪔 Moral of the Story

No great cleverness is needed to outsmart the greedy —
their own greed is enough.

🌿 Life Lesson

Without spending a single paisa or calling soldiers immediately, Tenali made the thieves do his own work. In many situations in life, an enemy's weakness becomes your greatest weapon. The clever person doesn't fight directly — they turn the situation in their favour.
