'My Granary Is Empty' — Dharmapala's Announcement
Are there people around you who use your goodness? Who cheat you again… every time you forgive them?
See how Chanakya exposed these three… two thousand three hundred years ago.
Big-Hearted Dharmapala — Shelter for a Traveller
Some days earlier… there lived in that village a grain merchant named Dharmapala. A big granary — and an even bigger heart.
That traveller was none other than… Chanakya. But Dharmapala did not know it.
The First — Bhadra, Caught Stealing for the Third Time
The next morning, the servant Bhadra was caught with a sack of grain. It was the third time.
The Second and Third — Debt-Dodging Kesava and Rumour-Spreading Rudra
In the afternoon Kesava came. A two-year-old debt… and not a single coin repaid.
A rumour sprang up in the village… that Dharmapala's grain was full of worms.
That night, by lamplight, Chanakya talked with Dharmapala for a long time. What they spoke of… no one knew.
Chanakya's Test — The Night Three Masks Fell
That night the whole village slept… but some stayed awake.
The Truth Revealed at the Village Assembly — The Traveller Was Chanakya!
In the morning the village assembly met. The elders recognised the traveller and bowed their heads… he was Chanakya.
The granary was never empty. All the grain was in the inner room. It was all… Chanakya's test.
The Ending — Who Got What?
Bhadra lost his job. Kesava repaid his debt. And no one in the village believed Rudra's word ever again.
In your life too, these three will be there. The one who repeats the same mistake every time you forgive… the one who treats your goodness as an opportunity…
Pity is good… but not for one who cheats you again and again.
Pity is a virtue… but not for the one who cheats you again and again.
Forgiving the first mistake is kindness; forgiving the same mistake again and again is naivety. You learn people's true faces only by watching who robs you and who stands by you when you fall.
Pity is good, but not for repeat cheats. Forgive the first mistake; give no more chances to those who cheat again and again.
Bhadra, the servant who stole three times; Kesava, who dodged a two-year debt; and Rudra, who spread rumours and faked a brotherly apology.
He had Dharmapala announce that his granary was empty and he was leaving. Watching who robbed him and who helped that night exposed the three — and revealed the true friend, Ranga.
'A snake adorned with a gem' — a snake is still a snake even with a gem on its head. Sweet words, tears and apologies don't change a cheat's true nature.
